The Venue With A View: Our Couple’s Epic Party At Potomac View Terrace

Like many of our couples this year, Morgan and Cameron met, became inseparable, and were engaged to be married – all during the course of the pandemic. After the unusual times they’d endured together, these two were excited to simply enjoy themselves and bring their closest friends and family together in one place to celebrate their marriage!

Most of the Atlanta-based couple’s guests would be traveling from Georgia and Florida, so they decided to treat them to a classic Washington, DC destination wedding. The first piece of the puzzle: a rooftop venue with both ceremony and rooftop reception spaces that featured panoramic views of the National Mall all the way from the Lincoln Memorial up to the Washington Monument. Perfect for incredible photos!

For their decor, Morgan decided not to compete with the view, eschewing bold colors for a classic black and white palette with touches of gold accents and nods to an art deco aesthetic. Guests were welcomed with champagne served in elegant coupe glasses and trays of the couple’s signature Gin Basil Smash cocktail. After a sentimental ceremony, guests made their way up to the roof and that’s when the party really began!

Cameron wanted to get everyone on their dance floor as soon as possible, so after dinner and speeches, the band launched into their first set as guests enjoyed an elaborate mini-dessert display and espresso martinis. The couple surprised their guests with light up foam glow sticks (a HUGE hit!) and Cameron changed out of his wedding shoes into a pair of sneakers with brightly lit soles to match the mood.

After their wedding was over, Morgan called it “the smoothest and most enjoyable day of our lives” and said “I could not imagine having planned my wedding with anyone else.” Nothing could make our team happier!
